Michael Tobias is the founder and principal of New York Engineers, an Inc 5000 Fastest Growing Company in America. He leads a team of 40+ mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineers from the company headquarters in New York City, and has led over 1,000 projects in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, and California, as well as Singapore and Malaysia. He is a graduate of Georgia Tech class of 2004, with a Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering with honors. His innovative approach to MEP engineering comes from graduating GE’s Engineering Leadership Program, where he designed wind turbines and biofuel power plant engines. Michael’s passion within design is energy efficiency and green technology. His focus is on integrating MEP/FP engineering design with architecture to create as seamless a system as possible. He is an advocate for green design and technologies, and has designed to both Passive House and Net Zero energy standards. He has spoken numerous times at the AIA, been featured in Georgia Tech’s Alumni magazine, and is an engineering expert on Discovery Channel’s show “Impossible Engineering”.

Pam Boyette joined New York Engineers in 2020 as Marketing Manager. With more than 20 years of A/E/C marketing experience in the New York area, she has experience in all aspects of marketing, business development, and communications, including pursuit strategy, proposal development, facilitating go/no-go decisions, staff training and mentoring, and writing and editing content. Pam received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Rutgers University. She is a member of the Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS).

Ray Ramos is a mechanical, plumbing and fire protection engineer at New York Engineers. With experience in government projects (pre-K, K-12, higher education, and residential buildings) and private sector projects (residential and commercial), he develops schematic design documents for a variety of projects in New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Connecticut, and New York. Being a member of ASHRAE, ASPE and USGBC (LEED), he believes that even in our outdated construction industry, quality engineering and sustainable design can and should always be achieved. Ray's personal vision is to become a reference in engineering excellence.

Matthew has worked on major infrastructure projects all over the world, including but not limited to office and residential towers, hospitals, court houses, tenant interiors, central plants, co-generation, universities, and sports stadiums. As both a design engineer and contractor, he brings a unique perspective of both engineering and construction to his projects. As a sustainable participant in the 2030 challenge, he has worked with local governments and brought ideas to focus on energy and water conservation to his projects. He is dedicated to championing current sustainable standards and technologies to each situation, and is pioneering a way to bring energy audits, retro-commissioning, and commercial property assessed clean energy (CPACE) financing to the forefront.

Joseph Fontana is an architectural designer, BIM-ops and protocol developer, and the founder of RevitX; designer and developer of U.S. patent-pending, RevX® - H3O®: a Revit project template developed to reduce liability through clash coordination, create precise documentation, and execute BIM production in 1/10th the time of standard BIM protocols. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the State University of New York at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). As a New York-based consultant, Joseph has designed, produced, problem solved, and executed high-profile projects for some of New York's leading design firms. His global design portfolio exceeds $1.2 billion and occupies over 9.7 million square feet. The scope of these installations ranges from restaurant, residence, retail, bar, broadcast, kitchen, bath, lighting, and furniture design to architectural sculptures exceeding $0.5 million for a single piece of art. He designed Steve Wynn's Prime at the Bellagio Hotel, a $6.7 million, 170-person occupancy steakhouse developed with the renowned interior designer Michael de Santis and the highly awarded culinary expert Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Joseph refined the design details of nine broadcast studios for CNN: Anderson Cooper 360, Nancy Grace, Paula Zahn, and American Morning at the Time Warner Center in New York; a prototype studio for CNN International in Atlanta; and sister studios in London & Hong Kong for Publicis Events. For Rockwell Group, he initiated preliminary engineering, executed the designs of several high-end architectural sculptures, and developed a $2.7 million tree house bar for MGM at the Mirage City Center in Las Vegas. In the Swiss Alps, he developed concept designs for a 40,000-square-foot addition to a 50,000-square-foot private residence designed by the office of Thierry W. Despont. Joseph brings over two decades of expertise to New York Engineers as its VDC Manager: BIM-Ops & Protocol Developer.

Josip is an HVAC, plumbing and fire protection engineer with over 15 years of experience in the engineering consultation and construction management fields. He received his Bachelor of Science in Physics at St. John's University and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College, where he decided to further his education and followed up by obtaining a Master of science Degree in Mechanical Engineering as well. During his career, Josip has worked on many different project types. Some of the more notable project types are laboratories, high end residential high-rise buildings, large multi-story department stores, malls, as well as the first indoor ski slope in America. Some notable clients that Josip has dealt directly with include Pinterest, TIAA, Bombas, Dataminr, Google and Time Magazine. Josip is known for producing products on time and on budget with a focus on client satisfaction. He does this through his project management skills and conversational tact with clients, ensuring that they are treated with respect, and that all their questions are answered fully. Josip has worked on projects varying in size from the relatively large (1,433,585 GSF) to more modest single-family homes. He has experience with codes from multiple states and countries such as New York, New Jersey, Florida, California, and Canada. As an accredited LEED AP+BC professional, Josip has designed buildings that achieved LEED Gold and LEED Silver certification. As such, he has learned to design to a stricter standard for the betterment of the world at large.

Tom Bentsen is a mechanical engineer with a focus on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Graduating with the honor of Magna Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Binghamton, he holds a strong foundation in engineering first principles and analytical methods with a detail-oriented approach to solving the challenges facing the present built environment. His experience is in base building and fit-out design for commercial, academic, and residential sectors ranging from tall new buildings to existing renovations. His aspirations include electrification of heating and cooling systems, improving indoor air quality, and limiting energy usage to maintain healthy and thermally comfortable conditions. To achieve these goals, he acknowledges the significance of each design parameter including façade performance, right-sizing systems, and developing sequences of operation that fit the desired application.

Sid is a mechanical engineer with experience in mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design. During his career, Sid has designed multiple private projects that include one and two family dwelling units, multi-storied residential buildings, commercial buildings, high-rise buildings, medical offices, and retail stores. Sid received his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cleveland State University. Sid was hired by New York Engineers in late 2021 as a Project Manager/HVAC Designer, where he is taking a shift in his concentration focusing primarily on energy auditing, energy benchmarking, and building commissioning. Sid’s career objective is to contribute his skills and time towards developing sustainable and energy-efficient design, making greener buildings by incorporating renewable energy sources into building design and development.
