A massive renovation of the former Willowbrook State School was performed in order to convert the neglected property into a thriving 204-acre college campus. The project required 14 buildings to be renovated with the addition of two new ones. The first newly designed building was the College of Staten Island Library which was built to hold over 250,000 books and features state of the art computer facilities.
