Columbia University, founded in 1754, is the oldest institution of learning in New York State and fifth oldest in the United States. It is located in Upper Manhattan, in Morningside Heights and occupies 32 acres. Columbia is organized into 20 schools, and administers the Pulitzer Prize annually.
New York Engineers helped to provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering consultation services for McBain Hall, floors 1 through 8. Work completed includes: conversion of heating system and new design of lighting system in the lounges and kitchens.
