Located in the westernmost neighborhood of Queens, Long Island City, is a multifaceted community, notable for its rich history, thriving artistic community, and its family-friendly parks. Because it was once home to many factories and bakeries, the city has had numerous abandoned sites that were creatively converted into television studio spaces, such as with Silvercup Studios, formerly the Silvercup Bakery, which has produced notable works such as 30 Rock, Gossip Girl, Mad Men, HBO’s Sex and the City, and other various films.
The site, located within the Dutch Kills hamlet of Long Island City, is undergoing construction to become an eight-story, 16 room hotel. New York Engineers provided MEP engineering consultation services to the project.
New York Engineers was hired to provide consulting engineering services for various mechanical and electrical upgrades, including conference room and corridor renovation. Fire protection was coordinated with Aon Risk Solutions.
