Smack Mellon is a nonprofit arts organization located in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Smack Mellon's mission is to nurture and support emerging, under-recognized mid-career and women artists in the creation and exhibition of new work, by providing exhibition opportunities, studio workspace, and access to equipment and technical assistance for the realization of ambitious projects.
How We Helped SMACK MELLON
NYE provided professional consulting engineering services for the project. The project consists of the addition of a heating, cooling, and ventilation system. The 1st floor gallery space was triple height on the ground floor, the cellar studio space was single height, the total area was approximately 12,000 sf. The space was a former coal district steam generating plant.
