St. Nick's Alliance
Project Information
Formed in 1975 during a nationwide grassroots movement to preserve and improve threatened urban areas, St. Nick’s is a non-profit, nonsectarian community-based organization that is dedicated to keeping North Brooklyn sustainable for low to moderate income families. Created by a determined group of local residents and businesses, St. Nick’s Alliance provides services to more than 90,000 people in five main areas: affordable housing, health care, workforce, economic development, and youth and education.
How We Helped St. Nick's Alliance
NY Engineers provided professional mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering consultation services for two of the organization’s buildings. Identical in structure, both buildings contained 45 units within five stories that were all undergoing a substantial rehabilitation, including gas and plumbing riser replacement and various upgrades to improve ventilation and overall energy efficiency of the buildings.
