LAGUARDIA AIRPORT

PROJECT INFORMATION

LaGuardia Airport, along with John F. Kennedy International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport, is part of the largest airport system in the United States. In 2014, the airport served 27 million passengers, a 1.2% increase in overall traffic from the year prior. It is the hub of Delta Airlines and is the busiest airport in the US without any non-stop services to Europe.

It is also in desperate need of expansion and remodeling. In July 2015, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo announced plans for a renovation of the airport, a $4 billion dollar overhaul of existing terminals, hangars, and facilities, in essence of creating a new, modern airport to support the growing amount of traffic.

HOW WE HELPED

NY Engineers is involved in the first phase of the renovation, providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection services for 2 separate spaces in Building 30 and Hangar 5A. This renovation will provide the operations base as the project gets underway.
