HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Habitat-for-Humanity
PROJECT INFORMATION

Established in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller in Americus, Georgia, Habitat for Humanity is an international, non-governmental, non-profit Christian organization founded on the principle that all people should have access to a decent, safe affordable place to live. Since its founding, Habitat has helped to build homes for those who are homeless and live in slum housing and impoverished areas and also provides relief for those who have lost their homes to natural disasters across the globe. It has garnered the respect of many politicians and celebrities, reflecting its profile as a highly regarded non-profit organization. As of today, Habitat for Humanity, through the manpower of volunteers and homeowners under trained supervision, along with funds from donations and mortgage payments by homeowners of completed projects, has built over 500,000 homes, sheltering more than 1.75 million people in more than 5 continents in 3,000 communities worldwide.
