Pizza Hut was planning to open a new store in New York, NY. The place was a small white box space with existing electrical, water, sanitary, and gas services provided by the base building. The building had multiple tenants and one of them was exactly above the Pizza Hut store.
The client was looking for a low-cost design by utilizing the existing services provided by the base building.
Following were the challenges-
- Design the MEP system using existing base building services.
- Fit the complete system within a small space.
- Design the HVAC system with no roof directly above the space.
Our team of design experts took the challenge and found the best possible routing for the gas and water piping without affecting the operations of other stores.
A variable refrigerant flow system was proposed for air conditioning to minimize the roof space requirement. Water, gas, and electrical power load were calculated and satisfied within the available existing load in compliance with all local and energy conservation requirements. A small floor-mounted water heater was provided to reduce the heater space requirement.
We saved the cost and time for the client by providing quick, affordable, and clash-free design within 2 weeks which resulted in the smooth start-up of a new Pizza Hut store before the timeline.
